Tuesday 8 February 2011: conference conference

Its been a busy week so far. Sheffield on Monday and Hull on Today.

This particular conference was good fun though. About 100 PhD students talking about their PhD experience. I had to do an hour long presentation / workshop first thing which I was marginally nervous about but they really were a lovely bunch and once I'd got into it seemed to go well.

There were some good speakers, especially the crazy supervisor from Northern Ireland. I stayed till the end so I could help judge some of the posters. I then went back to the station to return home.

Now Hull station is odd, its enormous but seems to have very few trains. I killed an hour on the station and finally crawled home at about 8.30pm which, when I left the house at 6.05am that morning seemed like a very long day!
