La Fiesta

This is the Big Band from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In the 8 years I have been catching their concerts, this is best version of the band I have heard. Not sure why - maybe because jazz drummer great Joe Chambers is now on the staff. Frank Bongiorno (I know, Good Day), does an excellent job as the director of this group. Featured here was a fine trombone player, Justice Mann. They played the music of Thad Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath (a Wilmington native), John Lewis, and Chick Corea's La Fiesta.
