The Phoenix Rises

The annual school talent contest, "The K factor", was bigger than ever and had much more talent on show. A lot less of the " Hairbrush in front of the mirror" category of teenage girl singing and much more of the harmonious and tuneful solo accompanied by real musical talent.

A clever electronic group, who were completely obscured by smoke, when one teenager tripped over the smoke machine, which then proceeded to belch smoke until it was disabled. The wafting of arms and programmes, were all that we could see for a few minutes, but the group played on in obscurity and did so very well.

The overall winners were a dance trio who were favoured by the crowd and danced so lightly and energetically, it made me feel like a carthorse.

It was a good event as usual, to encourage the "School's Young people" ( as the Head calls them) , give them some fun and we make money for the Parent council to boot.

So the agony of my back is worth it............... really!
