Bosham Quay, West Sussex

Bosham Quay from across the harbour, at low tide and in sunshine:) Lots of swans had just flown in to the creek amongst the mud flats, too slow with the camera still in my bag to catch them.

You can see Bosham Church - the Saxon tower is the oldest part and still stands out as a landmark for sailors as it has for many centuries. It?s a very historic site, believed [from documentary evidence] to be the oldest site of a Christian community in Sussex.
King Harold set sail on his ill fated trip to Normandy in 1064 from here. And tradition has it that King Canute?s daughter, aged 8, drowned in the mill stream and is buried in the church ? you can see her gravestone. So many blips ?. so little space for one day!

Another exciting thing I love about Bosham is that the road round the harbour floods twice a day and is generally to be found covered in seaweed. Timing your arrival and departure makes life interesting.
