Save Our Station

There are plans afoot to close a good many coastguard stations around the country. Within this plan Scotland would be left with one full-time 24 hour station based at Aberdeen and one part-time station at either Shetland or on the Western Isles. Big campaign to keep both Lerwick and Stornoway stations open full-time but not sure what will happen. I suspect the Government may decide to keep one open full-time and close the other in which case I fear for Lerwick's future.
