~Grassland Poetry~

~Prairie Flora~

A few days ago I happened on this hillside overgrown with desert grasses.
It was very late in the day so the low sun produced a wonderful backlight.
A golden atmosphere surrounded each plant, creating a flaxen luminesce.
I filed the vision away in the back of my mind to be explored another day.
When I returned today there was no wind and no clouds to spoil my shoot.
The grace and delicacy of the seedheads and nodes are what held my eye.
But what I really enjoy are the individual seeds, they shine like diamonds.
I protected my lens from the suns glare and used a narrow depth of field.
I think I captured the essence of what I first saw on this prairie hillside.

Thanks for coming by to say hello.
