Neither rashly nor timidly!

Or so I'm led to beleive.

This is the crest and motto on a stained glass window at reception at Merewood Hotel.

The building was originally a family home built around 1812 for the first son of the Earl of Lonsdale. I'm guessing the windows are original.

It is quite a fitting motto for today, as Dave and I were drinking tea in mugs in the hotel.

(Only the finest bone china cups and saucers may be seen "front of house"!)

This would normally be a crime punishable by being hung, drawn and quartered.

We were bold in our actions, blazenly sitting in reception slurping away.

We were, however, not rash in our actions, as we both knew Lorna the manager was not on duty today!

One would not be so brave if she was within 200m of the building!

Oh and Joe Cobb, the Assistant Manager, insisted on a mention in today's blip.

Even if it's just for me to point out to Lorna that he knew nothing of our misdemeanours!

"Honest Guv!"

;~))
