Wednesday 16 February 2011: Jagdschloss Platte

Another new walk today, got dropped off outside the city at the above named Schloss and walked the 6 km back. It was good walking in the trees as it was out of the wind.

It's definitely getting closer to spring as we saw a skein (if that's the correct collective name) of Cranes heading north. They make a very particular sound, it's kind of a cross between a bark and a honk (and I'm not conflating that to "bonk" or "hark", because that would be silly). Still it was the first time I've seen them in flight and very pretty they looked too. And the reason I didn't Blip them was because I couldn't find them in my camera and anyway they would have only been smudges against blue if I had Blipped them.

Frankfurt tomorrow. Me vs Deutsche Bahn again. Let the games commence.
