Wednesday 16 February 2011: Toy town
355/365: Little row of cottages, St. Ann's, Nottingham.
Taken as I walked into work earlier for a meeting I had with HR. And had my camera in case I fancied taking a photo - well, I only took this one. So that's that. I did take another later on as I walked the children home from school. The latter garden always intrigues me because it's sooooo full of rubbish. But I like this row of houses and my lazy bit of weirding up reminds me of the butterflies I had in my stomach about the whole HR thing as I passed them by.
Which I needn't have had after all since I got stood up by HR! Flippin' 'eck! Apparently because I wasn't in work today as I'm taking the rest of this week off sick (due to all the stress-induced migraines) they assumed that I wouldn't be at the HR meeting. This was weird because the meeting was to discuss the stressy situation at work... and I hadn't cancelled the meeting. So... ermmm... yeah. No, doesn't make sense to me either.
AAAAARGH!!!
Anyway, I seem to have done tons of walking today - but none of it that much fun! Walked the three miles into work. Walked another three doing the round trip to pick up the children because Nick had the car (he was dropping off a maquette of his sculpture at the Royal British Society of Sculpture in London for an award he's been shortlisted for). And the last bit of walking was accompanied by Felix grumping about having to walk and carry his bag. I truly am an evil mother, expecting my children to carry their bags. Mean, mean, mean. ;o)
Better skedaddle to cook some dinner before the children eat one another.
PS But if they did... it would mean that their bedrooms didn't get so messy anymore...
PPS Maybe I won't cook that meal after all...
PPPS Felix has started doing German in kindergarten. He counts to 3 by saying 'I, spy, try'. Hopeless!
