Monday 14 February 2011: Cliche alert!

Okay so we've been together long enough not to worry to much about these things and in fact I had to be in Newcastle all day and Simon had organised to be late home from work tonight. Plus I am so completly hopeless that I bought a card on Sunday, smuggled it upstairs to hide it and seemed to completely lose my brain in the process and totally forgot where I had then hidden it so had to ask Si if he had by any chance er happen to have found said card?!! I amaze myself sometimes.

Anyway a quick swap of cards and chocolates ensued in the moring and then I jumped into the wee peugeot 207 hire car and drove like a rally driver through the small back roads of the Dales to get to Newcastle (it was muchos fun I even came back that way as you cannot beat sliding a hire car through massive flooded roads and snow at what feels like crazy speeds when in fact you're only doing 40mph)

Anyway Simon also gave me this lovely rose which is quite unusual for him as I don't think he has ever given me one before and I confess I am a it of a sucker for such romantic gestures, even if we then don't actually see each other for the rest of the day / evening!
