Wednesday 16 February 2011: Formal beds

I love a good formal flowerbed :-) this one happened to catch my eye as I went into a very dull meeting today. The university doesn't do a great deal of this sort of thing but these beds are always well looked after, and at this time of the year its so nice to see something that is actually producing a little bit of colour

I think this love of formal beds come from the fact that as a child I used to spend a little bit of time each year with my grandparents in Bath which prides itself on being a britian in bloom city or somthing like that. I always had to go to the parade gardens and seewhat the flower had been arranged into the shape of, one year I am sure it was the muppets!

Simon is away tonight on a jolly with Toshiba being wined and dined in Watford with Al Murray!! So its a large bar of Toblerone and Masterchef for me tonight :o)
