'Classic' still life
I love playing around with inanimate objects to create images like this, it holds a fascination for me, as with artists throughout the centuries.
Just with a simple group on a table, using day light, a sheet of coloured paper underneath and curved up behind for the backdrop, no complicated lighting or camera/lens set ups are needed or used and excellent results are to be had using a compact or a mobile phone.
Try it sometime, nothing like experimenting with simple light and composition to get your artistic juices flowing.
This was taken using a DSLR, handheld, ISO 100, lens at 80mm, f5, converted to greyscale and cropped (warm tone added in Lightroom)
I meter on the highlights and let the shadows look after themselves.
Enjoy your Monday.
