Monday 21 February 2011: Bend and flex...

360/365: ... or more like 'creak and groan' in the case of me because after an afternoon spent digging, weeding, pruning and generally clearing the garden yesterday... I ache. A. Lot. I always do that. Get all carried away and enthusiastic. Keep going for far too long with my 'this is BRILLIANT! I'm the BEST gardener in the WHOLE WORLD!!!' enthusiasm... then start to seize up by the evening... and by the next morning I'm doing a fabulous impression of a mummified corpse.

Ouch.

Anyway, the way this relates to the shot above is that... ermmm... if you look at this shot for long enough, the building (it's the New Art Exchange in Nottingham if you're interested!) flexes towards and away from you in a weird optical illusion style. The tenuous link, therefore, is that it turns out an inanimate object is more flexible than me. :o)

I snapped it on our way back from a visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park because my time for taking piccies at the park was limited by Felix landing sidelong in the mud having attempted to climb a slippery, gungy, wet slope with only his foolhardy nature for protection. The sculpture park itself is fab though. We just managed to catch the last week of the David Nash show and his work is ace. The kids happily sat through a video installation of his (top tip: always find a video installation at any fine arty place if you have kids - for some reason it always engrosses them) and until the mud incident enjoyed seeing both the indoor and outdoor pieces. Obviously we had a minor fracas when we refused to buy them any cheap tat from the giftshop or cake in the café... but that aside it was great. Oh, and it snowed and sleeted too. Which added a certain shade of Northerly grim to it. But we braved it anyway. Yay us!

Dinner has now been scoffed. The kids are riding their scooters in the house - the carpetman still hasn't been in touch to rearrange fitting our new carpet, so they're making hay while the floorboards shine. And all is well.

*happy sigh*

PS I think this might be my first stress-free Monday in a-a-a-a-ages.
PPS It is bliss.
PPPS Just gotta crack the insomnia and I may start to feel like the old me soon!
