Abstract Painting Class

Just got home awhile ago from a class in abstract painting at the Trish Harding School of Art. There were eight of us. First we had a talk and discussion about what abstract art is. Then we used the reference material we had brought to class to design our paintings. I chose one of my photographs as reference. First we made thumbnail drawings and then painted our paintings. We had three hours to complete them and most of us did. I was partly into painting when I took this photograph of my work in progress on my easel. Trish is behind the easel to the left working on a painting herself. We had a great time and I really like the paintings we did.

Here is my reference photo.

Here is the finished painting.
