Christchurch City - Earthquake

A sad day for the city of Christchurch.

A 6.3 earthquake struck the city and surrounding areas during the lunchtime period. Buildings have collapsed, people are injured and trapped - devastating. There have been significant aftershocks some lingering and others sharp, more like a jolt, some measuring 5. South Island hopsitals have been cleared to help with the casualties.

Its dull overcast and a little showery - the city is in caos. Our family are fine but my heart goes out to those in the city - it was horrific.

I have been away from blip and was looking forward to uploading my back blips of our time in Wellington moving Daughter A into her accomodation but this won't be happening today, its a day to think of our fellow New Zealanders and of those in Canterbury.

A fern from my garden.
