Thursday 24 February 2011: The Three (Cycling) Amigos
Really nice day, out on a post-industrial history / bird watching ride into East Lothian with, from left to right, ruggtomcat (Tom), kaputnik (Andy) and chdot (Chris) from the CityCyclingEdinburgh forum.
T'was a slow potter out from Edinburgh along the Brunstane path, by the Musselburgh Ash Lagoons, out to the Gothenburg in Prestonpans for lunch, sauntering along the sea wall (discretion proving the better part of valour and taking to feet), checking out bricks on the shore (seriously), and birds off it, riding by the Prestoungrange Museum, then following the Esk into the countryside after a brief stop at Luca's and finding ourselves in Craigmillar.
As far as the birds were concerned there were some nice Wigeon reasonably near, but the highlight was my first ever Velvet Scoter (even if it was distant). I can only presume Daffy Duck was a Scoter...
The other possible blips:
Bike Line
Coastal Pans
Orange Troos
That's Not Gonna Work...
