Student Lunch

Today we had coffee with our dear friend and neighbour J and she told us about an initiative started by Otago University Students Association to make up 10,000 lunch bags for the Canterbury students who are working their butts off helping Christchurch suburbanites clear and clean up their respective neighbourhoods.

So a handful of dollars and a meander around the supermarket later we have the fillers for 10 lunch bags to donate towards the OUSA effort. The Canterbury students are doing a mighty job - as they did back in September - helping to clear roads, gutters and gardens of tens of thousands of tons of drying silty muck resulting from liquefaction. They are unable to attend lectures, due to the university being closed because of damage and lack of facilities, and have rallied in their thousands to support for so many people who need the help and company.

Saying of the day is: "don't sweat the small stuff"
