Saturday 26 February 2011: Nicola Moss, River Rubbings
It turns out there are eleven of these things.
I've managed to find nine. Which is very irritating.
This one is set into the cobbles opposite the King's Wark pub. The light was low making the detail stand out nicely.
Our Lady, holding the infant Jesus carried in a boat is a very old symbol of Leith and is usually accompanied by the motto 'Persevere'.
I especially like this one.
