Awaiting new tenants

For seven years now this house has been available for local songbirds. Only one or two of those years has there been no occupants. It's been checked out by a variety of species but it's always chckadees that move in despite the goldfinch motif. I guess the chickadees don't mind. We sure don't. One year we got to see the fledglings emerge for their first flights. What a sight that was. Just like Woodstock in the Charlie Brown comics. Fluttering, flapping, and not a lot of control sticking their landing by latching to the tree like a burr. Linda says some chickadees were inspecting the house this week. We've heard their spring songs again. Spring must be coming (and none too soon). The hole was widened a couple of years ago by a Downey woodpecker.

Yesterday's blip: We have a winner
