Sunday 27 February 2011: togetherness
A lovely day spent with Mrs B in and around Keswick. What makes a splendid day... well, waking up after a great night's sleep starts things off pretty well.
We'd picked out Walla Crag as our target for the day after a gentle meander on the flat around Buttermere on Saturday. A description of 'medium' in the tourist office and the strong possibility of a ride on the Derwentwater launch to finish off persuaded N that the walk was within her capabilities. Stunning views and the occasional glimpse of blue sky certainly helped.
Our timing was a little out of sync with the launch's timetable and the walk back into town felt like a little too much effort... but never underestimate the restorative powers of Yorkshire pudding and gravy.
This feels a little like my application for a job with the Cumbria Tourist board but what the heck - its much photographed for a reason and I'm back looking for Edinburgh grime tomorrow...
