Newts

Today I got some shots of California newts at Sibley. This time of year, they crawl back to their ponds or streams for laying eggs and mating. You can see some of the egg masses in the foreground. Sometimes we see newt balls, consisting of a female and several males (I have a short video from last year here). We were happy to see that they were all right, after our drought then a freezing spell.
