Disfluency


I am glad that the film 'the Kings Speech' did so well in the Oscars, I used to stutter badly as a child (occasionally I still do) and I am acutely aware of the problems it can cause - particularly at school, the horror of being asked to speak out loud is one that still haunts me, a class full of mocking children together with a smug ignorant teacher who would tut and roll her eyes as I machine gunned the letters at them all.
