The Edge of the Wold

Dragons

We didn't get to the north side of the island until our last full day, shame because it was absolutely lovely. We did a dragon tree walk, with the incentive of a cafe at either end. At the far end, the lowest point, we found the Cafe Finca Aloe where we ate organic cake and drank real Earl Grey Tea.

There are a lot of dragon trees (Dracaena draco) on this side of the island. There was one particular one which provided us with shade for our lunch stop that was enormous and ancient, a tree hugger's delight.

On the way home it was my last chance to photograph the sun sinking into the sea of cloud on the west side. But we were held up and I missed it. Oh well, we shall have to go back. I have a better idea now where some of the best spots for photographs are.
