Saturday 26 May 2012: Loch Etive
I grew up here so it was fantastic to revisit old haunts: the beech trees, one with my initials engraved in its gnarled bark; coffin bay - ruined by the Forestry Commission planting conifers down to the shore; the waterfall - hallowed ground; the smelly fish farm - I can see the environmental damage it's causing; the shore with the incredible view of Glen Etive; the quarry; the fairy wood; the old house.
It was lovely to watch him scramble up and down the rocks, happy to be back.
Staying with my brother in his amazing house. So lucky.
