guitar heaven

Dan and I head over to Coda Music in Stevenage today.  He has a hankering to spend his first pay check on an electric guitar.

We’re upstairs in the (predominately) Gibson room - jammed to the rafters with four figure instruments.  He doesn’t have that much at his disposal so we finally wander downstairs to the more affordable guitars, where he finds a very nice Epiphone ES-339, with a price tag to match the model number.

Having satisfied his need, we cross the street to their acoustic shop, where I entertain dreams of blowing my pension on a piece of plywood and steel - but beautifully put together plywood and steel.  I play one guitar which costs more than a Harley Davidson.

Dan tries to persuade me to buy a banjo - he knows I’m a big fan of Mumford and Sons and The Old Crow Medicine Show - (or any form of banjo rock for that matter).  But I have no idea how to play one.

Then back to the electric guitar shop to pick up his Epiphone while I get a couple more blips, before heading home.  A grand day out.
