Wednesday 3 March 2010: Paeonies breaking through - Spring's on its way
I love the outrageous performance put on by paeonies in the summer. A few days of wildly extravagant display and then, one day, all the petals have gone and we're left with a bunch of not-especially-beautiful stalks.
And every year I'm excited when they pop through again, surrounded by a crown/fence left from last years excesses.
