Midges, Clegs and a Tick

Yes ... Scotland in a beautiful place :D. The midges actually did quite well during our mountain biking trip yesterday. We just had some non bothersome red spots after that ... which have now (Saturday, two days later) turned into red bumps which are very itchy. Worse than those though must be the clegs (horseflies) ... they are very big, persistent and their bite really hurts! When trying to get them off the actually kept hanging on. Also discovered one tick ... which I was able to remove ... so I'll be keeping an eye out for any circles forming.

Besides all the evil insects of Scotland we had a great day today. We actually wanted to go on the Jacobite Steam Train but due to our total lack of planning it was booked. In the end we took a bus to the Glen Nevis lower waterfall. The waterfall was not that impressive but the surroundings were great. We ended up doing a 2 hour walk around and actually climbed up a mountain. It was very very cool. This photo is from the top of our mountain.

After climbing/walking we recuperated in a pub and and had some food afterwards. Then it was on the bus again at 19.00 and home in Edinburgh at 23.30 via Glasgow.

More photos:
* Together on the top of our "mountain"
* Ben Nevis (we think...)
* Amazing Scottish landscape shot from the bus (no photo-stops on citylinks :).)
