Sunday 30 August 2009: Could Be Home To Norman Bates?

This weekend I travelled over 100 miles up to Fort William. We stayed the night in a hotel and the next day, went on the Jacobite steam train up to Mallaig. The Harry Potter train journey! It wasn't as magical as Harry's trip to Hogwarts but it was a nice day out. If you like seafood you'll have a ball up that end of the country!

  3. What a lovely shot and a dramatic location.

I thought some of the train journey in the Harry P movies was across Rannoch Moor - does the train from Fort William to Malaig go that way...? Or is my geography screwed.

  4. I need to visit Scotland! Lovely country.

  5. No 42, the train from Fort William to Mallaig is in the opposite direction from Rannoch Moor. Some of it could have been filmed there though, it's filmed all over the place! Remember the part where the Hogwarts Express goes over THIS?? That's the route I was on and we went over that viaduct.
