Hot & Muggy

We've been having incredibly hot weather this summer. And now, here on August 31st, when we should be having rather coolish days and downright cold nights, it's still hot!

I took a drive out into the countryside near my home town. I was looking for some good photo locations. I am always on the lookout for places that might be good for future use.

The area I was hunting about in is called Plattsville (ya, crazy name, but that's what it is :). I know someone that lives around there (actually, I know a few people around there). She's suggested a couple of times I should have a look around that area for good photo sites.

I'm glad I finally have.

But of all the pics I took, and a number of others were great, it's this one of the sky and clouds that I've chosen for today. No hint of the location to had! Haha. I loved this one because of the suggestion of a storm about to hit. That's what it felt like too. Except the storm never materialized :(

I'll post some of the other images to my Flickr in a bit (that is if I can get LR's Flickr uploader to work properly again :(.

Dinner with my kids cancelled for tonight. That's okay. Though I am still disappointed. Lunch tomorrow with my son :)

  1. Brilliant! What I see are trees and clouds of almost the exactly same shape. There are even gaps in the right places. The picture runs from dark, to mid-colour to light and it has colour, always a blessing, and then zot! An electric cable just nipping the right hand corner. As I said, brilliant. Wish I had done it.
Did you see the echoing shapes of trees and cloud or did you only sense it. Am always curious about what people see.

  2. Yahoo! Someone noticed!!! This is pretty much exactly what I was seeing when I took this. I have another image I took right then too where I zoomed past the tree and cable, but even as I was taking it, I did not like it. I really loved the tree/cloud shapes and the cable seemed necessary for the right feeling.

    THank you! :)
