Sonata Lover

Found a bit

Well, a ski trip with sunshine is pretty hard to beat. But in all honesty, I would rather a little more new snow. Tessa and I have been unable to ski much because the conditions are so marginal. Tessa has been especially disappointed because we've not been able to spend any time at this one area of Big White that is often not open earlier in the season. She has been very eager to do some of these, otherwise forbidden, runs.

But today as it turns out, we found a little new snow. Sadly, only a *very* little. Still it was nice to look at.

Here we see Tessa heading down Blue Ribbon heading for Moonlight Run. It's these runs she's most eager for. It's these runs I'm most anxious about. When conditions are good they are simply challenging blues. But this week they are terrifying blacks!

But! We did it :)

[haha! Last year, a very different trip. But no less fun :)]

  1. That looks really icy (or at least what ski field reports here euphemistically say, "hard packed").

  2. Stunning scenery and looks like a good run. Glad you made it.

  3. yes, it's a 0.5cm veneer of powder on top of "hard pack". So hard one can hardly stick one's pole in it. Very, very hard. :(

  4. I stopped ski-ing a few years ago as my knees couldn't cope but this looks very inviting.....!

  6. This is such a beautiful classic shot. It looks like lots of snow but I see from your comments that it's lots of ice. It's great that you have such great relationships with your kids.

Thanks for your comments on Flickr! There are so many great things to take pictures of, aren't there!
