This is not the best picture of Lyra that was taken this day, but I just love it because it reminds me of how very tiny she was compared with her Daddy who looks rather like a giant in this picture!

Since before she was born, Tom couldn't wait to be a Daddy and was a lot more broody than me! He took to fatherhood amazingly easily and has always done more than his fair share willingly and with a great big smile on his face.

From Midwives' Notes

Pooky will continue to try and rest to allow healing to continue. She is in no pain.

Physiological jaundice is still present in Lyra but she is alert and breast-feeding frequently. I have weighed her naked today. She is 2.95kgs (6lb 7oz) - down 120g which is fine.

Pooky will continue to encourage Lyra to breast feed 2 hourly in the day and on demand at night to help clear the jaundice.

This was the first night I allowed Lyra to sleep without me waking her to feed 2 hourly. She slept until 4am before asking for a feed and then slept until morning which is a pattern she followed every night thereafter. As Lyra shares our bed, these night feeds were always very unstressful, Lyra and I would tend to drift back off to sleep during them.
