Monday 13 February 2012: Aegir

This is a model of an installation vessel which is not completed yet. It is the Aegir, a new to build crane, installation, pipe lay and so on vessel. It is a daring enterprise to design, build and last but not least to finance such an extreme complicated vessel. It is a super multi purpose vessel. She can reel off flexible pipe from the big reel you can see on deck, she can lay this reel through the vertical j-lay tower, she can install modules with her crane, install subsea modules and so on. And everything on Dynamic Positioning so she is not dependent from anchors or shallow water anchoring. It will take more than a year more before she will be completed. But the first contract have been already rewarded to this vessel.
