Thursday 2 September 2010: A more colourful me (with longer nails too)

I've been biting my nails since I was little. It's a nasty habit, and I've been trying to quit a thousand times, but after not biting for a week or so, suddenly I find myself gnawing away again when I least expect it. Stupid reflexes! This time I'm determined it's going to work, and so far it has - for almost a month now! The trick I found works for me is to use nail polish, and not just one layer of whatever I find, but base coat, coloured coat x2 and top coat x2 after a thorough file and polishing session. Going through all this work means that whenever I even touch a nail to my skin anywhere at all, or just catch a glimpse of them as I type along at work, they're glossy, smooth and colourful enough for me to ignore my stupid biting reflex and leave them be! Yay!
Today was "new colour day" - this is the most colourful they've ever been, and I think they'll make me happy for the week to come until it's time for something new :)

The ring I found the other day at a store that's about to close. It's not what I would wear normally, but since their prices were way down, I thought to give it a shot!

366 to go until that magic 100 000 views... I hope I'm here to see it happen!

5. I love these colours. Well done on the nail biting. I have the exact opposite problem. Since I got pregnant my nails started growing really fast and strong and I'm too lazy / forget to cut them then suddenly I realise I have unkempt talons!
   
   Nearly 100 000. That's a lot of views. I have just looked and found we are approaching 70 000 maybe we'll make it to 80 000 before our 200 Blip Day later in the month.. It's weird to think of all those views isn't it?

6. Oh and thank you (re comments on photography). I know it's not true but thank you! I don't know how to get a blurred background. I thought that if I have a small f point thingy (ahem, I'm not quite there on the jargon yet - is aperture the word I'm looking for? Maybe not) then it should blur but the smallest on my camera is 2.8 (it went to 3.5 here because I zoomed in I think?) but the background doesn't blur. So am I doing something wrong or is it a case of not quite the right kit? I agree though. I really want my backgrounds to blur (everyday almost) but don't know how!
