Through the window...

It's been a very long day. I was up at 5.30am and Ben and I were on the road to Cambridge by 6.45am. The traffic was heavy, but there were only three traffic jams and we arrived at the exam venue in good time - far less stressful than last Thursday. The format of the exam proved to be somewhat different from previous years but Ben thinks he did OK - and it's the last one, so tonight we're celebrating by having a Thai take-away.

I haven't entered the Monochrome Monday challenge for a while, but in the absence of other subject matter I took this image looking across from the TV room to the family room. Both these rooms are extensions to the original house, and enclose the patio, which is south-facing and very warm and sheltered. Our plant choices may not always have been wise, particularly the giant plume poppy, and at certain times of year it feels rather as though the garden is trying to take-over...
