Saturday 26 May 2012: Travel Day On Anacortes Ferry

Today was a travel day...a good 9+ hours of driving, waiting, and then the hour long ferry ride over to San Juan Island in Washington state.

We were truly lucky to get the 2:45 ferry, as almost 80 cars missed getting on 9:30AM sailing. Even getting there 3 hours early didn't ensure we would make the 2:45....but we did:))) We vow to never travel again on a holiday weekend:))

The weather on the island today was in the mid 70's...better than the weather we had in Portland Oregon! It was a stunningly clear blue sky...and the crowds at the resort were such a change from our last visit, when the docks seemed so quiet.

I thought this photo of the ferry at Anacortes reflected our day of travel:)
