Sunday 12 February 2012: Hang on there ! -it's still winter
I'm off to Madeira at dawn tomorrow so I thought I'd have one last look at the ladybirds before setting off for Heathrow.
It isn't minus anything today. It's probably about 3 degrees plus - but there is snow on the ground and I was amazed to see how active the ladybird colonies were. Several were taking the air and this bold one, at the top of the sage, was looking down on her sisters. Methinks they are a touch optimistic !
