Sunday 12 February 2012: X Marks the Spot!
Beautiful day for a saunter round the ponds at Monikie ... both of which are partly frozen much to the birds' consternation! It was warm enough for a thick cardie rather than a coat and it was tres muddy in places which was a pain (I only forced Pixel8t to clean cleaned my boots yesterday!
The surrounding country was looking a little barren - can't wait for it to be April and for the trees to leaf again! Then we came home and drank coffee and talked for an hour ...
***LIT QUIZ*** Shhh La La I can hear you groaning!!!!
Ok so as many of you guessed Friday's quiz answer was Fingersmith by the fabulous Sarah Waters - sorry if my 'little strangers' comment diverted some of you to that novel, that was more a clue to the author.
Today there is a hard one and an easy one (as the actress said tot he Bishop)
The hard lit link is to an iconic poem, written in 1922 and features a line written in this blip somewhere - poem and author to get the link!
The easy one is a children's classic and is not very aha -rd to guess at all! :D
Get both and I will declare to the whole of blipland that you are a complete smartarse how clever you are! ;)
email as usual to mistogal68@ gmail.
Now Friday's swotty knickers winners are the usual suspects with one or two new names to add ...
Ceridwen who clearly likes herrings - especially red ones (sorry about that N)
Doli (who has to answer the hard one as she reckons I am being too easy on you all!!!)
MR
MissRae - hopefully she won't follow through on her threat to play anymore if she got it wrong - YOU GOT IT RIGHT!!! :D
Booky Srumpdiddligorgeous!
Freespiral - this gal rocks!
KirstieG who seemed to have my hangover (or the one I deserved but didn't get!)
Goatee - no stretch for him this time!
Bittersweet - getting a little ahead of herself today! ;) And has given me tips for Australian lit links!
CarolineJay HAPPY BLIPDAY GORGEOUS!
Welsh Dragon or as I shall now know her 'old blue eyes'
A Writer's Life - she's been fricking about all day!
Grasshopper whose blip yesterday may also be a clue to the easy peasy lit link!
Well done and thanks for making this so much fun - the emails are a real highlight of my day - even when they are wrong!
Happy Sunday evening folks! :D
