Saturday 18 May 2013: Collapso fairy...
1177/365: ... 'I'm too tired to eat my dinner', she said, collapsed at the dining table. Fairy wing drooping slightly.
After all, she hadn't long cycled home from her ballet lesson... plus, she'd had her swimming lesson in the morning too.
Miraculously though, the fairy managed to rally herself and eat a big bowl of fruit salad which she likes. Guzzling strawberries with gusto and finding an inner strength that had previously escaped her during the main meal. Strange how that happens...
Me, I'm kinda tired too. I went for a run this morning and almost bottled it for the first time in ages. I turned up at the place where I normally go for a run, and charging down the lane came a whole load of thin women with pony-tails and lycra, complete with personal trainer looking fearsome. I sat in the car for a bit while they stretched and grunted at the gate. Then when they started to amble back up the lane, then broke into some kind of canter, I'd had enough. I drove to my less liked but much quieter route where I don't bump into anyone. I'm still a fat girl lumbering along and embarrassed by the thought of what I must look like! I couldn't cope with the lycra army at all. When I go running tomorrow, I'll try to go even earlier so I don't risk another Amazonian encounter.
While I was doing that, Nick was doing the swimming-library-swimming thing with the monkeys. Which meant I came home to a quiet house, so got the laundry on, had a shower, got lunch ready... and all without pint-sized interruption!
In the afternoon we went to the garden centre to buy some new runner beans, courgettes and cucumbers - the slugs have been busy. I've resorted to slug pellets again as the damp weather and my veggies seems to be some kind of perfect holiday destination for sluggy fellas. They're all now planted, I did some weeding, earthed up the spuds and did a spot of tidying. My second globe artichoke that I thought had pegged it has come back and I found the horseradish has also survived the winter too - yay!
Finally, taking Moo to ballet. We cycled there and back, and while she was dancing, Fizzy and I went for a bike ride together. Moo is still really really enjoying ballet and her face afterwards is a picture! So happy.
PS Eurovision is on the television right now.
PPS Good grief it's awful.
PPPS I feel an early night coming on...
