Wednesday 17 June 2009: Snails

I've been in Harbin, China for almost 6 years now and I'm a big pet lover. I used to have two tanks with turtles. Then a big 200 liter tank with fishies. One thing that I always wanted for my tank were some nice big Moon snails. But unfortunately I've never seen them here. All I've ever seen was some little snails that are thought of as pests. They breed like crazy and you can't seem to get rid of them.

But lo and behold I found some nice snails. Like everything here in Harbin the longer you're here the more likely that the things that you want will eventually find there way here. I was happy to buy four red snails. I always drop rings of zucchini in my little tank for my pleco and immediately the snails went right to it as well. Now I always have to put two rings of zucchini in because there doesn't seem to be enough room on just one for all of them.
