Sunday 12 February 2012: Roma and the whalebones

Today's the day ........................ to see the High Pond for myself

Followers of Roma's journal will know that one of her most favourite places is the High Pond. Well today she took me there - so I could see it for myself.

And it is just as lovely as it always looks in her blips. Most of it was still frozen so the ducks were confined to a small patch of open water at the edge and it was funny to watch them as they clambered on to the ice and slid about! This is Roma at the boatshed next to the whalebones that perhaps were once mounted on two plinths at the entrance.

We walked all the way round. It is indeed a lovely place and it was a treat to see it for myself at last ..........................
