Monday 17 June 2013: Babycham
I was walking back from Temple Bar (having done some editing on our film with Fiachra) when I noticed the commotion. Someone had put some kind of detergent into the Thomas Davis fountain, so the Heralds of The Four Counties were blowing soapy water and the fountain was foaming over onto the street, an extravagant wedding of bright sunlight and suds. It must have been a strong detergent, because the foam was peculiarly solid, so it was fairly easy to carve and lift boulder-sized wedges. Kids were playfully batting about and carrying armfuls of the stuff, in one instance laying it on a taxi driver's windscreen; not wise, but he seemed good-natured about it. I watched for a little while then went over and took some shots. It was early in the evening, no one was drunk enough to know what to do with such a Babycham bounty.
