Sunday 1 January 2012: Out with the old, in with the new?

Or maybe, today, the first day of 2012, it's the other way around.

Spotted, sitting in a small corner of the Apple Store, a man doing torn-out newspaper crosswords with a pencil and a rubber. Fabulously eccentric.

2011 was a bumper year. Let's hope 2012 brings as much joy.
