Wednesday 21 May 2008: Hope

"According to the news, the confirmed death toll caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province has risen to 19509. ?More than 50000 people are feared dead"the rescue headquarters of the State Council said Thursday. Another 102,103 people were injured and 12,323 buried in the rubble.? And 13,465 people were rescued from the debris."

Although Harbin ( the city i am currently living in ) is not in the provence of Sichuan, people are still feeling the pain for everybody who have lost loved ones, homes, limbs and the injured. Not even a 100 meters from where this photo was taken was a large group of people lighting candles, fires, to show respect to the ones who lost their lives and chanting "Sichuan Jai You!!! (Come on Sichuan) to the sky and hugging loved ones.

It is still amazing to see that even with all of the sad things that are happening this year in China, there is still strong spirit left. right now it is rare to see smiling happy faces here.

I'm sorry if this was written poorly, i am a photographer, not a writer.
