About Texas Life

I've been making photos for some 35+ years, and transitioned into digital several years ago. I'm a California native, spent 10 years in northern Virginia, and have settled in the Austin, Texas area as of 2006. I travel about the state for work, and am particularly enjoying documenting and photographing small town life in this great state.

I've spent more than 30 years in the public safety arena; I'm a former police officer, fire manager & incident commander, emergency medical technician, dispatcher, communications center director, and emergency manager. I'm currently working in the private sector delivering consulting services to public safety agencies nationally on radio systems, interoperability, incident management, social media, media relations, and other topics.

Even though it is a rare day when I do not make a photograph (or many), I've never had the discipline to do a structured "photo a day;" I'm hoping Blipfoto will provide that impetus for me. This is a wonderful community of talented folks, and I'm really enjoying my time here. Blipfoto is addictive!
