About Caged Bird

This is the beginning of a new hobby for me as a complete amateur in photography. I have a new camera - a FujiFilm FinePix F40 and at the moment I only know how to point and shoot! Apparently this camera can do all kinds of things I am unaware of at the moment and all I know so far is that the more pixels you have the better so my son-in-law says! So as you can tell this is going to be a work in progress and very much trial and error so any words of encouragement will be gratefully received!!

I think the idea of a photo blog is a brilliant way to document your life and I have been fascinated and inspired by looking at some of the incredibly creative and beautiful pictures on this site and also in reading the comments people make alongside their photos
I hope to learn something about photography as I go at the same time as recording some brief thoughts as a kind of record of my life.

Why the name Caged Bird, well thats too long a story for here.....


Update
18th Jan 2008 - made it to my 100th blip!
I somehow managed to find a blip each day but I wonder if I will continue to do so without becoming so addicted that I won't get anything else done! So from now until I reach my 200th blip I hope to improve my photography but without the pressure of posting every day. Part of my trouble is that I love to read other journals and in doing so, if I'm not careful, I will forget to live my own life! So I must fight the blipaddiction!!
