About Sonata Lover

Well, first and foremost, I'm a father. I built (with a lot of help!) a lovely family with three children. All of them teens, though the oldest is about to "graduate" out of that demographic. These three are the joy of my life.

After that, everything else is incidental. But, I'll add, in no particular order, that I am...

A retired technologist. I built a career in the high tech industry in Southern Ontario. I am very proud of a lot of the work I have done during my career. But I am very happy to have that behind me now, as much fun as it was.

A frustrated artist. I love music. Violin and singing are what I do best. I may not be a professional, but I don't want to be either! To be able to draw or paint would be cool. But I can't. Photography is something I've loved for years. I can see. And I think I have a pretty interesting perspective that makes my photography interesting. I am happy with it.

A frustrated traveller. I have travelled in my life. But not nearly as much as I'd like. I have started to do more now, and expect to do a great deal more in future! Although, to be fair, when I start detailing where I've been over the years and the kind of travel I've done, it is rather extensive! :)

This photo journal is brilliant. I love that I can share a bit of my day with a friend I don't get to see much of. But I also love the chance to focus on what is around me. The challenge of finding the right thing to say, the challenge of finding something that expresses my feeling for the day, is wonderfully therapeutic. Kind of like a journal, just not so private :)

Now (2008.05.09) after 365 blips, I feel like this is kind of like a second home. Actually, I've felt this way for a long time now, but especially now. I have been blessed by the opportunity to share my year with people and receive from them encouragement and kind words. I did not think I'd do a full year of this when I started, but now, I cannot imagine what it would be like to have no blipfoto! I offer here a very kind and loving thank you to our founder and leader. You are an angel.
