Blossom

Backblip
A trip down South, about as far south as you can get on this island: M and I drove down to Cornwall to say farewell to, and celebrate the life of, our dear friend Terence.
The weather was not bad, the traffic was fairly easy and Sunday-like and it was great watching the Spring arriving like a time-lapse film as we headed to warmer climes.
This is the blackthorn [ Prunus spinosa]blooming in Cheshire. It was out in force from there south. What is known as a Blackthorn Winter; it blooms prolifically after a hard winter and a false spring (like we have had) and this means that there's a bumper crop of fruit coming in the Autumn.
As they say; I like my women fast and my gin sloe ;)
