Yellow-Tailed Black-Cockatoo

Yellow-Tailed Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhyncus funereus)

My attention was first drawn to their presence by the fir cones raining down as a small flock fed in the crown of a pine tree.
Feathers are near-black with a pale yellow edging. They have two prominent yellow ear patches and a yellow bar on the tail (better seen when in flight).
The eye-ring on the male is pink, whereas that of the female is more grey.

This image has been slightly altered. The straight pictures of these birds can be seen on my Flickr site.
