jeni and the beans

sweet dusty-bones

I make no apologies for this and the next couple of days - it's going to be full-on montage mayhem!! It's been a wonderful week and I want to record it as such. I love that I can create a single image out of a selection of photographs, I love that I can record a day like this - without trawling through all the pictures ;)

Started off early, Ben woke up as usual at about 6.15am but whereas usually he can be convinced into dozing off again with a boobie cuddle this morning he heard grandma come downstairs to make a cup of tea. "Ben see grandma?" But as I'd had to put him in an unlined cloth nappy overnight as I'd forgotten the nightnappies, I had to wake up and change his nappy before he went off just in case he did a poo. So I was awake. So I went in search of a cup of tea as well.

And after that, by 8.30am, we were fed, washed, dressed and kicking our heels.

Unheard of!!

So we took off into Sale to hunt for a phone charger as my phone had had just enough juice to tell me that it was 6.15am and then it died. We found a bargain. A juicejack, the last one on the shelf, reduced from £28 to ....... £1.50!!!!!!! Could hardly believe our eyes! And it seems to have worked, it's not blown my iPhone up, and so it lives at my parents' house now for the next time I forget my phone charger.

Incredible that I had enough time to go out to hunt for a charger, and charge my phone up enough to last most of the day, and still make it to see sweet dusty-bones and her wee boy by 10.40am. Always lovely to see her :)

The day was rounded off by opening a bottle of champagne ("we've had this since Christmas and not had reason to open it so we thought we'd open it tonight to celebrate you being here!") (and I say opening: it practically exploded and shed a fair bit of its contents over the table, missing by centimeters the plates of food. Ben looked quite startled!) which we discovered tasted a LOT better with the addition of a splash of sloe gin, and lighting and sending chinese lanterns up into the darkened sky.

A really really beautiful day.
