The Crystal that ate the ROM

Linda is using this space for her second blip today. She had an outing downtown and had a number of nice blips. I had nothing. Here is the first blip.

This is the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal extension of the ROM or Royal Ontario Museum (wiki). We both think the thing is an eyesore and ruined the Italianate Neo-Romanesque original building. Edward calls it a pretentious monstrosity. He predicted there would be all kinds of problems with it and they are coming true. Patrons bang their heads on the jutting wall corners. Staff hate it because of the huge amounts of wasted space where nothing can be displayed because the walls are too angled and there are not enough floors to hold stuff, just air. And, the windows are leaking. It's a Daniel Libeskind contraption. The ROM staff were near mutiny of it's chief because he shoved this project down their throats. Now it's too late.

Yesterday's blip: YorkU is 52
