Malham Cove

Yorkshire, day 2. A trip to Malham Cove. Amazing place - the shot we all wanted just couldn't be pulled off - from the foot of the cliff, almost in the middle, looking up, was like being in a bowl. But too wide for just about any lense to capture! Got some half decent shots of a Grey Wagtail in the river too, and nearly put up one of the shots of the river coming out from underneath the cliff (the waterfall stopped falling thousands of years ago - one of the cool things about a predominantly limestone geology is what it does to the rivers, this one now flows under the cliffs from the Tarn above!)

Came after a walk at Malham Tarn, including Willow Warbler and Nuthatch, and a couple of Great Crested Grebes. Lunch in Malham with about 10 Goldfinches, a few Martins zooming around, Jackdaws and Sparrows and Blue Tits and Great Tits and Chaffinches and two friendly chickens. Then home via some highland cows (?!), Settle and the Ribblehead Viaduct, though the sun was in the wrong place for good shots. Some great clouds, but you got a cloud shot for yesterday!
